Assessing potential sustainability benefits for AM in the Energy sector

DNV and Berenschot has since 2016 facilitated a joint industry project over 3 phases for standardization of Additive Manufacturing for the Energy and Maritime sector. The JIP, represented by over 20 companies from the entire value chain, has led to the publication and later update of DNV-ST-B203 – a standard for qualification and documentation of metal AM production. The ongoing phase of the JIP is scheduled for completion Q1 2024.

In the latest work guidelines are developed to standardize how to report on carbon footprint for AM parts and how to apply AM standards to applications with promising business cases for AM in the Energy and Maritime sector. The presentation includes initial results from production cases run in the JIP, and the guideline development.
